In this New Yorker article, Steven Shapin provides a history of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) from it's highly controversial causes to the development of ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy. Ultimately, Shapin challenges the reader to think beyond the "spectrum" labels, pathology, and disability.
