Note that some people experiencing anxiety and depression, or certain other disorders, may benefit from psychiatric medications. Many studies support the idea that meditation is a powerful way to cope with anxiety. The Calm app offers a variety of free and subscription based guided meditations.

Insomnia
Studies suggest that 1 in 3 people in the U.S. report difficulty sleeping at least one night per week. Insomnia is caused by difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep or waking up too early in the morning which can impact your ability to function efficiently during the daytime. Spending some time improving sleep hygiene can help you catch up on the sleep you need to feel rested during the day.

What is CBT-i?
Considered to be among the best ways to treat insomnia, CBT-i is evidence-based and the first line treatment for insomnia. It is a multi-component treatment that usually includes a combination of education, behavioral and cognitive interventions. The Australian Sleep Health Foundation gives a great overview and provides a variety of resources about this very helpful intervention.

Depression

Relationships
Many people come to therapy because of issues in their relationships. Whether it is trouble with a romantic partner, conflict between parents and children or tensions with work colleagues, relationships are often the place where humans play out their internal distress. Couples therapy can be terrifically beneficial in helping to navigate the challenges presented in the relationship.
